Hi, I'm gene Corbett from Total Driver.
This year we are working with your school to deliver better outcomes with you as licenced drivers when you get out on the roads.
Why? There is a big problem out there with learner and P plate drivers being over represented in accident statistics. You are only 12% of the driving population but represent 23% of all accident and fatality statistics.
It gets even worse than that, this is just one state, this is NSW, mulitply this by every state in Australia and we are killing a Novice driver a day. For every fatalitiy, there are 35 permanent injuries.
80% of the people in Young care, are there through road trauma and under 25 years of age.
Quite simply there has to be a better way
The problem is not what you think you know, it is every thing that you are not being told.
Project this diagram up onto the wall, point at it with your right index finger, close your left eye, open it, close your right eye. IT moves, your eyes are telling you lies. In addition to our eyes telling us lies, our brains are picking and choosing what it thinks you should see, based on what it expects to see there.
So why are Total Driver different.
We create a three way partnership between parent, student and us as driver trainers.
We give you reports based on lesson performance, so you can see what you need to practice, how you need to practice and how much you need to practice.
We give you and your parents post lesson support material, E books, DVDs, and visuals for the visual and theoretical reinforcement, so we are leading you through a training process. that delivers far greater outcomes. Guiding parents, as we prepare students.
Here is what we aim to achieve, this year we are working with Griffith university, a three year research project between control and non control students.
We aim to show a 50% reduction in the post licence accident and fatality rate.
A massive change in our driving culture and our driving outcomes.
As part of doing this, we are offering your schools three free education programs
1. SAFE Year 10
2. Greenlight Year 11
3. SLAM Year 12
For the parents, we have free parent training nights, the whole idea is that is gives us the opportunity to address the issues that affect your decision making as drivers.
No one hops into a car with the intention of having an accident.
We have parent training nights coming up at your school where your parents can be introduced as to who we are, how we do it and how we are going to help you with learning how to drive
We would like you to be a part of these exciting programs, contact your school, contact us, check out our facebook page, Total Driver Australia and look forward to attending one of our events.
We will enjoy being part of your journey to become a Total Driver and seeing you at one of our events
